5 things you need to know
With its Christmas market (voted best in the world in 2022 ), ice rink, illuminations and activities of all kinds, WINTER WONDERS is the place to be if you want to experience the magic of the festive season! If you’re a first-timer to the event, rest assured the programme is tailored to an audience from the four corners of the globe and is going to blow your mind!
The ice rink at Place De Brouckère
The WINTER WONDERS ice rink is the only open-air ice rink in Brussels, set up on Place De Brouckère for the enjoyment of young and old skaters alike. The terrace enables you to enjoy the atmosphere while overlooking the rink. Three curling rinks have been added to the ice rink this year. More information on prices and opening times.
The tree on the Grand-Place
Year after year, the fir tree takes its place on the Grand-Place in mid-November. It is enthroned right in the middle of the multicoloured sound and light show, projected onto the façades of the buildings in the world’s most beautiful square. When the festivities come to an end in January, the wood from the tree is reused to produce (for example) benches for the following year’s WINTER WONDERS or trophies for the BXL TOUR.
