Wednesday is half-day and children’s playtime with our Afterschool! Storytelling, puppetry, street art and so much more await you on stage and in Santa’s Workshop.
Inside Santa’s Workshop near the Black Tower (behind St Catherine’s Church), kids are filled with wonder and excitement when performances and other delights happen in the fairytale setting of this double chalet.
“But it’s Christmas! A day of cheer, charity, joy. Let’s light the flambee, get out the turkeys, the game. The charcuterie, the roasted chestnuts, the juicy oranges… let’s eat, dance, laugh! Just this once!” – Charles Dickens
Let’s go back to what Dickens intended with stories for kids aged up to 120 and adults over three. Let’s meet Djan the mailman, Tuck the hobgoblin and maybe even Santa himself? These funny, moving and sensitive stories are meant to be shared.
Like all good things, it started with a simple idea.
Take a character that’s upbeat, entertaining, fresh and always ready to go off in unexpected directions…
Add a case full of juggling and clowning for the artist to show off his incredible skills and finish with a good crowd that’s ready to have fun and you get the special recipe of Douce Ambience, a street show for all ages and tastes.
The show is reinvented every time due to the constant interaction between artist and audience.
