Place De Brouckère has been a pedestrian area for several years, and hosts the ice rink and the curling rinks as well as numerous catering chalets and covered terraces to create a warm and friendly mini village. Located behind the Saint Catherine’s Church, the Black Tower is one of the best-conserved relics of the first fortifications of Brussels constructed at the start of the 13th century.
On an igloo-shaped stage, the enchanting voices of the Winter Vox choirs perform every Saturday and Sunday (until 22 December), amplifying the magic of this hidden gem.
For the first time, the Black Tower hosts Santa’s Workshop, where children are the kings and queens of the festivities. Discover the activities in our agenda.
The Christmas market extends to Rue de la Madeleine. On Rue de la Madeleine, artisans from Galerie Bortier, neighboring shop windows, and a Ukrainian association occupy Winter Wonders chalets to offer a wide range of products.
Galerie Bortier, an architectural jewel and iconic passage in Brussels, reopens its doors on November 22 after a meticulous renovation, undertaken in close collaboration with the Buildings Authority. Since its inauguration in 1848, this historic gallery has preserved a unique literary heritage, standing out for over a century as the “Booksellers’ Gallery.”
Today, it embarks on a new phase, enriched with cultural and gastronomic offerings that blend the authenticity of the past with contemporary expectations.
In this spirit, it hosts the Creators Factory for three weekends, in collaboration with hub.brussels. An authentic market of “material transformers,” where ethics and sustainability are undeniably key, this creators’ market perfectly aligns with the responsible and (eco)-conscious evolution of today’s and tomorrow’s world.
