The Christmas market extends this year to Rue de la Madeleine. On Rue de la Madeleine, artisans from Galerie Bortier, neighboring shop windows, and a Ukrainian association occupy Winter Wonders chalets to offer a wide range of products.
Galerie Bortier, an architectural jewel and iconic passage in Brussels, reopens its doors on November 22 after a meticulous renovation, undertaken in close collaboration with the Buildings Authority. Since its inauguration in 1848, this historic gallery has preserved a unique literary heritage, standing out for over a century as the “Booksellers’ Gallery.”
Today, it embarks on a new phase, enriched with cultural and gastronomic offerings that blend the authenticity of the past with contemporary expectations.
In this spirit, it hosts the Creators Factory for three weekends, in collaboration with hub.brussels. An authentic market of “material transformers,” where ethics and sustainability are undeniably key, this creators’ market perfectly aligns with the responsible and (eco)-conscious evolution of today’s and tomorrow’s world.

The enchanting story of Lucia comes to life in the courtyard of the City Hall, blending storytelling, orchestral music, and multimedia scenography.
By hosting Lucia, the City of Brussels continues its investment in the cultural and creative industry. The symbolism of Lucia also embodies light and the rhythm of life.
This work is part of the series of interactive tales titled In Bocca al Lupo, created by Quebec artist Anne Lagacé and the Montreal-based studio Mirari. It tells the story of Lucia, a ballerina from Ravenna, Italy, whose dreams are shattered by an accident and then rekindled by the ingenuity of a lamplighter and the involvement of passers-by.
This original creation, the result of four and a half years of work, redefines the boundaries of multimedia through the power of storytelling that will captivate both young and old.
Discover Lucia’s story through a unique structure that brings the ballerina back to life. This interactive work attracts the attention of passers-by, transforming the public space into a magical scene where art, music, technology, and strangers converge.
This immersive experience offers:
• An interactive poetic narration where the audience becomes part of the story
• Original musical compositions that change with the interactions
• An interactive light structure that responds to the presence of the public
Composition: Maxime Goulet
Performance: OSM and Dina Gilbert
Production: La Pastèque
Illustration and creation: Fanie Thuot
Sculptor: Yann Guillon
Acoustic Thursdays are a new addition to Winter Wonders, designed to bring a warm and intimate musical touch to Tour Noire. Every Thursday evening, small acoustic music groups create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the heart of the Christmas market.
Discover this prickly plant inspired by the echinocactus at the bottom of Mont des Arts, which unfurls its sparkling foliage 11 meters high, like a firework suspended in mid-flight. This giant luminaire evokes a dreamlike, disjointed tree whose luminous fruits sway in the wind, creating a moving scenography.
Simon Goldin, from Montreal, Quebec, has been living in France for years. Well-versed in contemporary music yet not denying his roots, such as call-and-response songs, he invites you to sing, dance, and stomp along with him.
For the second consecutive year, the poster for Winter Wonders is brought to life in the colors and style of Brussels illustrator Elzo Durt.
Born in 1980, this graphic designer-illustrator creates his images using engravings, drawings, and textures, which he scans from books collected from various places. He then composes, deconstructs, reconstructs, and colors them to create his vibrant images that blend surrealism and pop art, always in flashy colors.
Once again, his composition features fantastical characters straight out of a dream. A distant wintery universe that allows the collective imagination to flourish… the iconic characters of Winter Wonders are represented to form an atypical and joyful family beyond time.
